CHALLENGE Simple with impact! Two color printing with die-cut slits for the rubber band. The message — if you start small and stay with it, eventually you will have something big — was a reference to the subjects of the film who started collecting unknown artists one small painting at a time and, years later, donated their multi-million dollar collection to the Smithsonian.

CHALLENGE Design sophisticated invitation packages depicting the garden theme of each event. Packages include a save the date card, invitation with inserts, reply device, event program, e-vite and event signage, as well as an auction booklet for some events.

CHALLENGE Design a compelling, cost-effective invitation for the premiere of MUSE's movie about Ai Wei Wei, a Chinese artist/activist who smashes 18-th-centruy vases to call attention to the government's neglect in protecting cultural treasures. A piece of red tape over Ai Wei Wei's mouth kept the invite closed while referencing the heavy censorship he is under in China. Removing the tape allowed the invite to roll open.

A vellum confetti wrap enclosed the invite which had bold magenta foil stamping for "Spring Gala" and subtle, iridescent foil stamping for the confetti floating down. An unusual shape helped the invite stand out in the mail. |
